Tribal phoenix tattoo on guys shoulder

Phoenix tattoos can be pretty fierce looking, especially when they are inked in a tribal design. This guy has a large tribal phoenix tattoo inked on the upper-right portion of his back, near his shoulder. The black and white tattoo design features a phoenix with its wings spread on either side of its head and the creature’s tail feathers reaching down past its feet. The tribal pattern used in the shoulder tattoo is simple, but it makes the phoenix look really interesting and unique. The reason why most phoenix tattoos, including the phoenix in this back tattoo, are depicted as rising upward is because legend has it that the phoenix can set itself on fire and rise from the ashes after death to be reborn.
