Whitney Houstons Daughter Gets Tribute Tattoo to Mark Late Singers 49th BirthdayThe only child of world-renowned actress and singer, Whitney Houston, has opted for a permanent and very personal tribute to her late mother. Six months after her mother’s untimely death on February 11, 2012, 19-year-old Bobbi Kristina Houston Brown hit a tattoo parlor in Atlanta with boyfriend Nick Gordon, and the duo got matching “WH” tattoos in honor of their dearly departed. The initial tattoo on her wrist is Bobbi Kristina’s first tattoo, but it may not be her last if she falls victim to the ever-popular celebrity tattoo trend.

What better way for Bobbi Kristina to celebrate her mom’s illustrious career and full life than to get a permanent wrist tattoo in honor of the late singer’s birthday? Marking what would have been Whitney Houston’s 49th, Bobbi Kristina and her boyfriend, Nick Gordon, got matching “WH” tattoos inked on their wrists on August 9, 2012, the initials framed by four doves and two tiny crosses. Whitney Houston’s February 11th death – called an accidental drowning, complicated by heart disease and cocaine use – was likely an incredibly difficult time for Bobbi Kristina, during which she reportedly grew closer to Gordon. While they are not technically blood relatives, Gordon is often called Bobbi Kristina’s “adoptive brother,” since Whitney Houston took him in at the age of 12.

With her new tattoo, Bobbi Kristina will always carry a piece of her legendary mother with her, as will Whitney Houston’s godson, Nick Gordon. Her “WH” wrist tattoo is her first tat ever, and for those of you interested in witnessing the entire process, Bobbi Kristina’s visit to the tattoo parlor was filmed and will be debuted on her upcoming reality show, The Houston Family Chronicles. The Lifetime network has reported that the series will follow the Houston family “as they take on their greatest challenge, supporting and guiding young Brown as she faces the world alone, without the one person she relied on the most, her mother.” Bobbi Kristina’s show is expected to premier in 2013.

Bobbi Kristina made her acting debut just last month, with a role in Tyler Perry’s TBS series, For Better or Worse. “She’s such an actor. I’m so proud of her,” Tyler Perry said about the 19-year-old’s appearance on the show. “I’m telling you, as far as she wants to go in the business, she can.” It appears that young Brown is following in the footsteps of her famous mother, who completed her final feature film, Sparkle, just before her death, “Mommy, I’ll FOREVER represent you!” Bobbi Kristina tweeted after her new Whitney Houston-inspired tat was completed on August 9. After sending out some birthday love and making the special day a trending topic on Twitter, Bobbi Kristina ended her emotional tweets with a direct message to her mother: “I’ll never let you go.”
